Service Disruption Notice: Flight Delays

Airlink advises customers that flights this afternoon and evening are delayed due to air traffic control constraints at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport. The disruptions are caused by ATNS staffing shortages and the suspension or expiry of certain instrument flight procedures. These issues have led to departure delays, airspace restrictions, and some flight diversions, impacting the overall schedule. Airlink is working to recover operations and minimise delays. Updates will be shared via Airlink’s app, social media, and airport information screens.

The Embraer 195-E2: Next level of extraordinary travel

Welcome to the future

Airlink will add 10 new Embraer E195-E2 twinengine passenger aircraft, augmenting its current 67-strong fleet. The delivery of the new aircraft will be completed in 2027.

The Embraer E195-E2 seats up to 136 passengers in a two-by-two all Economy Class cabin layout, giving Airlink additional capacity to enhance competitiveness on high-density routes, and additional range that will create opportunities to open new routes serving more destinations across sub-Saharan Africa.

Airlink will also derive additional savings from the high degree of operating, maintenance, training and equipment commonality between its existing E-Jets and the new E2s, including similar flight decks, operating procedures and handling.

Cabin comfort

No middle seat: window or aisle only – never stuck in the middle and more elbow room. Highly efficient HEPA filters capture 99.7% of airborne particles and other biological contaminants as small as 0.3 microns. The Embraer E195-E2 overhead bins can fit one piece of cabin luggage per passenger (e.g. four standard 22-inch roller suitcases) – so there will be no more “hope it fits” moments. The economy-class seats offer adjustable headrests and power outlets.

Class-leading flying experience

Smaller noise footprint than previous-generation narrow body aircraft. The Embraer E195-E2 is the quietest single-aisle jet flying today. Less cabin clutter allows for more room. Variable lighting creates restful atmosphere.
