Airlink Reconnects Lesotho and South Africa

Airlink, the privately-owned regional airline, will reconnect Lesotho and South Africa when it resumes scheduled passenger services from 12 October.

This follows the lifting of travel restrictions that curtailed travel between the neighboring countries while they both worked to successfully contain the spread of the Coronavirus.

“Airlink is looking forward to re-establishing the vital connections that sustain the all-important trade, business, tourism and family ties between the Mountain Kingdom and its neighbour,” said Airlink CEO, Rodger Foster.

Our daily south-bound morning return flights between Maseru and Johannesburg provide travelers with seamless connectivity with Airlink’s new direct flights linking Johannesburg with Cape Town and with Durban. Connections are also available to our other South African destinations, such as Port Elizabeth, East London, Bloemfontein and others. Over the coming few weeks, Airlink will rebuild its network with the resumption of services to additional destinations throughout the SADC region, all reachable with Airlink connections via its hub at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport.

Airlink’s great value for money Economy Class fares include a 20kg free economy class checked in luggage allowance plus a 15kg sporting equipment allowance. Onboard, our customers are treated to a complimentary light meal, refreshments, generous leg room and a choice of aisle or window seat (our flights do not have middle seats).

Airlink’s intra-continental Business Class service is available on selected flights operated by our state-of-the-art Embraer E-jets, with wide seats arranged in a two plus one abreast configuration with plenty of legroom between each row. Lesotho and South African Biosecurity and Travel regulations

Please check with the appropriate Lesotho government authority for the latest regulations for travel from and returning to Lesotho.

South Africa has introduced additional measures for international travellers arriving in the country. Click here for information on these requirements. Please note that all arriving travellers are now required to provide a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test certificate, issued by an accredited laboratory in line with World Health Organisation standards, no more than 72 hours before the date of travel. South African Authorities reserve the right to verify the authenticity of presented PCR test certificates. Arriving travellers unable to produce a valid certificate will be required to quarantine, at their own cost, for 10 days. South Africa also requires visitors to carry valid travel insurance policies that cover the costs associated with COVID-19 testing and quarantining.
