Following the successful introduction of its third jet flight rotation in May, operating in the afternoons to Pietermaritzburg, Airlink will from 6 June introduce a second morning flight (dept PZB 08h30 arr JNB 09h30 )also to be operated by the jet as well as adjusting flight times in line with the market’s input. This will provide passengers using the Pietermaritzburg gateway with even more convenience, coupled with the benefits of the jet service.
‘At the inception of the jet service our Pietermaritzburg resident business travellers asked us if we could both move our morning flight out of Pietermaritzburg earlier (dept PZB 06h45 arr JNB 07h45 ) as well as also making our evening flight out of OR Tambo a little later ( dept JNB 18h00 arr PZB 19h00 ) . These preferred flight times being as a result of the time required to travel to and from OR Tambo to their meetings in the Gauteng area, although with the expanding Gautrain service more and more business travellers are using this as their preferred mode of transport’ said Karin Murray Airlink’s Marketing and Sales Manager. ‘With the completion of the Pietermaritzburg runway rehabilitation project, we are now able to operated both earlier from and later to Pietermaritzburg airport and are very pleased to be able to inform our regular travellers that we have been able to satisfy their request. Our jet flights have been well supported and we anticipate that with the revised timings even more travellers will use Pietermaritzburg as their preferred gateway to Pietermaritzburg, the South of Durban and the Natal Midlands ’ added Murray.
For travellers looking to experience the benefits of the Pietermaritzburg gateway for themselves, fares start from R450 all inclusive T & C’s obviously apply.
