January 2012
In December 2011 the Airports Company SA (ACSA) celebrated a decade of hosting their Feather Awards for its international airports and 8 years at their domestic airports. This function is held on an annual basis to acknowledge and thank the respective operational and commercial service providers operating at the ACSA airports who consistently demonstrate excellent service during the year of assessment.
The criteria for allocation of these awards are two-fold. A perception questionnaire is conducted through interceptive surveys with passengers travelling through the airports and evaluates the entire experience of the passenger. This is conducted on a monthly basis and sent through to the Airports Council International (ACI) in Switzerland for verfication and analyses. The second evaluation is an observation survey that takes cognisance of the processes such as check-in, boarding, on-time performance and baggage delivery in the case of an airline. These results are also sent overseas to the Transport Research Laboratory (UK) for independent analyses and reporting.
2011 has been a good year for Airlink on service delivery and the airline was recognised for consistent service excellence at 4 of the ACSA airports by their respective customers. These awards were received at George Airport, Bloemfontein Airport, Kimberley Airport and Upington Airport.
